Off-Road Redneck Racing |
Let's go down to the bayou and pretend we're rednecks for a spell, shall we? "Off-Road Redneck Racing," from Interplay, is a wild game in which you burn rubber on dirt tracks throughout the great southern portions of our fair country.
In the demo version, which you should know is a whopping 100MB file (broadband only), you have the option of racing with only two cars, a General Lee-like truck and a hick dune buggy. You fly through the dirt tracks while avoiding chickens and other objects you're likely to find strewn around the backwoods of the South. Not a bad game if you can handle the download.

Need For Speed ( Hot Pursuit) |
One of the most challenging car racing games to hit the market in recent times, this game looks like Electronic Arts' bread winner for the next few years. The cars, the races , the locations and almost everything is amazing in this game. The best part is the level of details to which these guys have gone, from terrain mapping to engine grunts they got it done almost 100% correctly. Okay so you want the features and the stats and here they are.
There are 3 main categories of racing cars, the Class A, Class B, and the Class C. Class A consists of all the big boys like the Lamborghini SV , the Scuddera Ferraris et all. The best among them i.e. if you plan to win the knockouts and the tournaments is the Lamborghini SV. If you find Class A to hot to handle ( I don't blame you for that! ) Class B can be your parking lot i.e. again if you chose the right car , the Ferrari 500 for these runs. Class C, well who needs it any way ?
The most interesting feature is when you compare car stats and hear out the car history and don't forget to chose your own colour. But of course please do not play pranks in the tune up section as the engineers at Ferrari are definitely better than you.
Once you are buckled up in those cushy leather seats you race some of the difficult terrains in America. From modern towns to snow clad mountains they test your driving skills like never before. What makes these terrains difficult but yet enjoying is the excellent quality of graphics. But let me warn you that any thing less than a P-III and 64 mb ram you are calling for trouble. Have you got the latest Direct X ( 7 or 8 ) ? If not go and play softball.
